Local Links Dives-sur-Mer Cabourg Houlgate Caen (D-Day) Memorial Honfleur Deauville Trouville Bayeaux Mont St. Michel Kite Aerial Photography Notre Rêve is a two-bedroom, self-catering holiday condo (sleeping 6) located in Dives-sur-Mer – in the department of Calvados, in the Basse-Normandie (Lower Normandy) region of France, on the coast of the English Channel.  Our condo is in the Les Marines section of a resort development called Port Guillaume.  Neighboring towns on either side are Cabourg and Houlgate, both of which have casinos and lovely beaches (the Cabourg beach is a 500 meter/6 minute walk from Port Guillaume via a foot bridge). A little over two hours driving distance from Paris, and twenty minutes from Normandy's capital city Caen and the historic D-Day beaches and Memorial, Dives-sur-Mer was the embarkation point for William the Conqueror's invasion of England in 1066.  Twenty minutes west is the town of Ouistreham, where a car ferry runs from Portsmouth, England. Dives-sur-Mer is just over a three-hour drive from Calais, where the Channel Tunnel terminates.  An S.N.C.F. station right inside Port Guillaume allows one to catch a train to (and from) Paris — a little over two hours to the Gare St. Lazare!
